Welcome to the Alliance Française of Stellenbosch
The Alliance Française is a non-profit making association founded in Paris in 1883 and is represented in 136 countries by more than 1000 committees who work together for the promotion of the French language and culture.
French is spoken by more than 250 million people in 50 countries across the globe, 25 of which are located in Africa. French is an official working language of the United Nations, the European Union, the International Olympic Committee as well as other international organisations.
Our value-added cultural environment ensures that you not only learn French but the civilization behind it. Learn as you enjoy our enriching program of films, lectures and social events . We are truly a gateway to the French language and culture.
Visit our resource centre where we have have hundreds of French books on loan for free to all registered Alliance students as well as several magazines which arrive every week.
Mondays,Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2.30 until 5.30pm.
