68, mes parents et moi

On Friday 6 February at 7 pm, the Alliance Française and Dibuka invite you to the movie projection of "68, mes parents et moi", a documentary made by Virgnie Linhart. The feature will be followed by a discussion with the director at the Café de l’Alliance.

Virginie was born in Paris, in 1966. She studied History then Political Science. While doing her doctorate in Political Sciences, she decided to leave university and start writing and making documentaries. Specialised in historical, political and cultural documentaries, she has directed more than fifteen documentaries to date.

Her third book, Le jour où mon père s’est tu, published by Seuil in 2008, was awarded l’Essai de l’Express Prize. Based on this book dealing with the silence of her father who was very much present on the intellectual scene of the late 1960s, and with the memories of her Maoist militant parents, she directed a documentary entitled « 68, mes parents et moi ».

The film does not focus on well-known protagonists of the time – those who took part in the events of 1968 – but on their children ! Indeed, not everyone was lucky enough to have revolutionary parents…
