One of the most charismatic musicians to emerge on the European music scene in recent years, Tunisian born oud (traditional Arabic luth) player, vocalist and composer Dhafer has already left audiences and critics spellbound. This tour will allow South Africans to discover a unique genre of music, which is at once ancient and modern, drawing its influences from the intense spirituality of Sufi music and the electronic loops of present-day jazz. This incredible mix of Mediterranean melodies and electro-jazz sounds will take you to undiscovered places, as Dhafer’s amazing voice, along with his beautiful talent on the oud, are one of a kind. For this tour, Dhafer Youssef has picked an extraordinary group of musicians from Norway : his creative partner Eivind Aarset (guitar and electronics), Audun Erlien (electric bass) and Rune Arnesen (drums).
