 Synopsis
Samia (Lynda Benahouda), une jeune fille âgée de quinze ans, vit dans la périphérie de Marseille. Sixième d’une famille de huit enfants d’origine algérienne très traditionaliste, elle étouffe sous le poids d’une morale faite de croyances et d’interdits qu’elle respecte mais ne partage plus...
Yacine (Mohamed Chaouch), le grand frère au chômage, se fait le gardien des traditions familiales et religieuses, tandis que la soeur aînée, Amel (Nadia El Koutei), s’exclut de la famille en poursuivant une relation avec un garçon de culture différente. Les autres soeurs prennent le parti de tout miser sur leur réussite en classe.
Samia, poursuivie par ses échecs scolaires, orientée malgré elle vers un enseignement technique, obligée de vivre clandestinement un premier flirt, prend conscience de l’absolue nécessité de ne laisser personne décider de sa vie.



 Synopsis
Samia is a teenage girl of Algerian descent living with her family, including sisters and brothers, in Marseille. She struggles with the tradition-bound rituals and bleifs of her home life while transanding into the modern world of which she must become a part.
One of Samia’s sisters has a french boyfriend - this irks her mother - who is constantly fighting to maintain and safeguard the old ways. When Samia’s father is hospitalized, responsibility for maintaining order shifts to the eldest brother.

As Samia begins to spread her wings, she finds herself at loggerheads with her mother and brother, upholders of the religious and cultural restrictions Samia renounces.
