A documentary by Régis Obadia (2003) French with English subtitles

 Synopsis : Dominique Mercy rencontre Pina Bausch en 1972 aux Etats-Unis, dès lors une collaboration intense naît entre l’interprète et la chorégraphe. Régis Obadia livre un portrait intime du danseur saluant le rôle de l’interprète comme messager onirique du chorégraphe. Dominique Mercy se fait virtuose, il vit l’œuvre qu’il transpose par son corps et la parole, et fait lui-même acte de création en donnant forme à l’expression créatrice de la chorégraphe. Le film rend compte de sa grâce si particulière, de sa force et de sa puissance d’évocation, et retrace son parcours, avec des témoignages de Pina Bausch bien sûr, mais aussi les chorégraphes français Françoise Adret et Jean Babilée, Suzanne Linke, Carolyn Carlson et des danseurs du Tanztheater de Wuppertal.

Regis Obadia paints an intimate portrait of the dancer, saluting the role of the performer as the choreographer’s dreamed messenger. Dominique Mercy is a virtuoso who lives the work, which he transposes with his body and speech , and creates by giving shape to the creative expression of the choreographer.
