L’Alliance Française, en partenariat avec Slamlakour (association réunionnaise de slam poésie), est heureuse d’organiser une compétition de slam poésie, le samedi 1 août, qui sélectionnera le meilleur poète sud africain de 2009. Le gagnant sera invité à participer au championnat international Océan Indien de slam poésie qui se tiendra à l’Ile de la Réunion en Septembre 2009. Cette compétition réunira les meilleures slameurs de la zone de l’Océan Indien. Le vainqueur de cette compétition sera invité à participer à la Coupe du Monde de slam poésie à Paris en 2010.

Rules for the participants :
 The participant must be over 18.
 All languages and all themes are accepted
 The poems recited must be the participant’s own work.
 The whole poem must be recited a cappella.
 Music, costumes and accessories are NOT PERMITTED.
 The performance must be no longer than 3 minutes, to be timed by the judges.
 10 seconds extra time will be given to each participant.
 The poems will be marked out of 10 points.
 Slammers who exceed the time allocated (3 minutes 10 seconds), will be penalized as follows : 3’11 to 3’20 : 0.5 point 3’21 to 3’30 : 1 point 3’31 to 3’40 : 1.5 points, and so on for each extra ten seconds.
 Timing begins when each slammer begins reciting. Before beginning their recital, they will take a few seconds to greet the audience and the judges, introduce themselves and provide the title of their poem.
