COMBINING MUSIC & ART WITH AN EXCLUSIVE PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION
On the music bill, Hope is joined by Cape Town-based Andy Lund and coinciding with this collaboration, Andy Lund will also be showcasing a photographic exhibition entitled “Wishlist”, a documentary of school upliftment.
SHANNON HOPE
Shannon Hope is a South African born piano-based vocal artist who writes her own version of Art Pop that is intriguingly powerful, yet delicately moving in its artistry. “Music has the ability to take you to places that you can’t always access in everyday life and this is why we need artists like Durban-based Shannon Hope. Her music is emotive, evocative, and delivered with such honesty that you can’t help believing every single word.
Hope is an exceptionally honest performer. She gets into those emotional places we often block out, with such ease and sincerity that you wonder if she doesn’t perhaps live there permanently.
Watching her performance, her honesty is so obvious that it seems at times as if she stops performing. There are moments where she forgets the audience, and becomes lost in the music itself ; the effect is simply mesmerising.” (Channel 24 Review)

ANDY LUND [MUSIC]
Listening to Andy Lund’s music is like watching your favourite film that has never been made. The music rolls out like a visual soundtrack, driven by passion and emotion.
Lund describes his music as, "as much Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits and Neil Young as it is Radiohead, Depeche Mode and Jeff Buckley". It has a melancholic edge to it, but the music itself pushes with a feeling of dirty romanticism. I guess you could say it leads the listener from the gutter to the stars.
