Cape Town based band Babu conducted a successful S.A. Tour earlier this year. They played at the major centres around the country and conducted performances and workshops at various Universities.
The band was nominated for two SAMA awards in May 2009.
Babu also received a standing ovation at the Standard Bank Jazz Festival in Grahamstown this year and featured Kesivan Naidoo as the Standard Bank Young Artist of the Year.
Since then Babu have embarked on a short tour to Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. The band also plans to perform at a festival in Belgium next year and is in preparation for an extended European tour.
While continuing to perform material off their debut album "Up Roots", the quartet are currently working on new material. Babu plans to present there new material in November this year in a series of performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
