The Alliance Française team represent diversity. We all share a passion for the French language, which is either our mother tongue or our language of education. However we got hooked on the language, love it and love sharing it with people.
Our teachers are qualified teachers, either holders of Masters in teaching French as a Foreign Language or trained through various programmes implemented through the Embassy of France in Zimbabwe and training centres in France. We even have teachers who are accredited trainers of trainers. Our teachers are never alone and can benefit from the skills of those, interacting between the team in Bulawayo and of the Alliance française of Harare.
Most of our teachers are also accredited assessors of the DELF exams, an internationally recognized diploma from the French Ministry of Education for Speakers of French as a Foreign Language.
The daily affairs of the centre are managed by the director, M. Philippe Durand-Massé, in tight relationship with the local Board of Members (Committee) of the Association.
Philippe holds a Master in FLE (Français Langue Etrangère - French as a foreign Language). He has worked in several countries in Africa, Asia and South America where he held posts such as school headmaster, educational adviser as well as project manager. Philippe is a french civil servant. Currently, he is the director of the Alliance française in Bulawayo.
Patience Huni is a young lady who grew up in the city of Bulawayo. She holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Records and Archives Management from the National University of Science and Technology, previously she worked as an intern at Africa University in Mutare. She is curently working towards obtaining Master's Degree in the same field.

Alfred Zulu has been teaching French for Tourism at the School of Hospitality and Tourism since 2000. He was Director of Classes at Alliance Française de Bulawayo from 2003 to 2016. He is currently a French teacher at Christian Brothers College in Bulawayo and he continues to teach part-time at the Alliance.
Having majored in French and English, Hardy Matewa graduated at Hillside Teachers’ College in 2008. While pursuing these studies he participated in a French teacher development course in the Reunion Islands and also he worked as a part-time French teacher at Alliance Française de Bulawayo. Hardy went on to teach French and English for four years at Christian Brothers College Bulawayo. In May 2013 he comes back to teach full-time at Alliance Française de Bulawayo and hopes to make paramount contribution to the promotion of French language and culture in Zimbabwe and the world at large.
Jessica Chitura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in French and Spanish studies from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA. She has taught language classes both in USA and abroad to a variety of ages. Languages are her passion!
Elizabeth Ngoie Mukadi is a Congolese national, she has been based in Bulawayo since 2003.Elizabeth is a French teacher by profession and has taught the French language for 14 years in the DRC in private secondary schools.
Originally from Russia, Kristina Turovskaya has graduated from Kamchatka State University (Russia) in 2008 as a Master of Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting English and Japanese languages. Further she pursued studying of Japanese language in Anabuki Business College (Japan). Moving to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in 2010, Kristina got involved in French language and culture of Bulawayo community. After completing various training courses and exams, in 2012 Kristina has joined the team of Alliance francaise de Bulawayo as a full-time teacher. She never stops self-improving and is completing the ProFle program, professional educational program for French language teachers.
Sisikelelwe Sibanda gratuated in 2016 from the Early Childhood Development Program at the United College of Education in Bulawayo. She is passionate about children and loves teaching Language Arts. She adores the French language and holds a DELF B1 certification from Alliance Française. Sisikelelwe attended in January 2017 a "French courses for kids" training program in Mozambique. She is currently working towards developing her competency level, all the while teaching the children's courses on site.
Mthulisi Ncube is a determined and self motivated man. He has taught French for a number of years. His interest among others are in developmental projects and community development. In whatever work he does, he shows determination and does it to the best of his ability.
