France, through its diplomatic and cultural network in South Africa and Lesotho, is celebrating French gastronomy in true culinary style with the theme So Chef! from 9 to 21 October 2017.
So Chef! combines French know-how with local produce and celebrates food and the science of good eating. Following on the success of last year’s edition, top from France and Reunion Island, will travel to South Africa and Lesotho and participate in gastronomic experiences in seven cities where the Alliance Française network is located.
In celebrating National Nutrition week, So Chef is partnering with the Department of Basic Education, the French Institute of South Africa and the French Embassy in South Africa, to give SA learners a taste of French cuisine.
In Port Elizabeth on the So Chef! Menu are a French eat-along film, workshops for both adults and children and the ‘piece de resistance’, a 4 hands dinner.
Chef Alexandre Galmar from Reunion Island (France), will work together with a local chef Annelie Oosthuizen for a ‘four hand’ gastronomic dinner on Saturday the 21st of October.
